whimsy

I think ‘whimsy’ is my favourite word in the dictionary

1. Capricious humour or disposition; extravagant, fanciful, or excessively playful expression: a play with lots of whimsy.
2. An odd or fanciful notion.
3. Anything odd or fanciful; a product of playful or capricious fancy: a whimsy from an otherwise thoughtful writer.

Capricious, fanciful, extravagant… all seriously cool words.  It is all about fun. There is true magic out there in the way of talent and some very extraordinarily talented people.  I am constantly inspired by the ‘whimsy’ in others, whether it be the still moments of the photographic world or the visual flair of an yet to be discovered cultural artiste. Little luxuries? Well, we all have our weak spots, I just wish I didn’t have as many as I do.  Petit extravagances, diminutive decadences… maybe I should just go back to the dictionary… or perhaps a thesaurus would be more apt; pretty, seductive, excessive, self indulgent…

Whimsy just wouldn’t be whimsy unless I shared a good dose of my own. Here you will find all of the projects that have currently captured my focus, my progress on them and my own private whimsy that leads my on my journeys and what I discover along the way.
