It is no secret, I love a good book. I love it even more when the book is celebrating locally produced food and the food heroes that produce it.
Eat, Drink and be Straddie: Tales and Tastes from an Island in the Sun, does just that, but it goes that one step further by celebrating it with sensational images and easy to follow recipes, as well as being a really lovely read.
Stradbroke Island is a glorious part of the world just off the Brisbane/Sunshine Coast mainland, where gorgeous couple, Angie Simms and Stuart Quinn made their home a number of years ago. Inspired by the beauty of this pristine, largely undeveloped island, they have become well know for their stunning images of seascapes and beach scenes, as well as their beautiful wedding photography… and I would know… Angie did mine!
So I was a little excited that my new claim to fame could be that my wedding photographer has had a hand in creating this beautiful book.
The book really captures the essence of Stradbroke Island, and pays homage to it small, yet wonderful collection of producers. Love it.
Sooo… if any of you are thinking about some gift ideas for Christmas, look no further… maybe get one for yourself while you are at it, as you may not want to part with it. And then book your trip to Straddie.
Eat, Drink and Be Straddie is available at a small selection of retailers, but you can easily purchase it online.
